Track Installation Kit for Fiberglass Boats – Part #INSTALL-KIT
Have a Ranger boat or another fiberglass boat with no access underneath the gunwales?
No worries — our Track Installation Kit is specially designed for exactly that situation!
Whether you're customizing a Ranger or any fiberglass vessel where traditional installation hardware won't work, this kit makes track installation easy, clean, and secure.
Important Ordering Note – Please Read!
Before placing your order, we strongly recommend giving us a call ☎️ to ensure this kit is compatible with your specific boat and installation needs.
Every boat setup is different, and we want to make sure you get the perfect fit the first time!
What's Included in the Kit:
-
Chamfer Tool – Smooth out edges for a cleaner install
-
3/16" Drill Bit – Perfectly sized for prepping the mounting holes
-
Marine-Grade Adhesive (5200) – High-strength bonding solution to seal and secure your tracks in place
-
Note: Self-tapping screws (#14, 1-1/4" length) are not included in this kit but are required for installation. These must be requested at the time you order your track from Traxstech. Be sure to mention that you're using the Track Installation Kit so we can swap the standard hardware for self-tappers.
Have an Aluminum Boat Instead?
If your boat is made of aluminum and you don’t have access under the gunwale to through-bolt your tracks, then this installation kit is not the solution you need.
✅ In that case, we recommend when ordering track to specify that you need rivets — specifically designed for secure, no-access installations on aluminum boats. It's the best way to ensure long-lasting, vibration-resistant mounting without needing to through-bolt.
Ask us about our Rivets when ordering your track! Our team will guide you to the right hardware for your setup.
Proudly Made in the USA
Built with the same high-quality materials and craftsmanship you’ve come to expect from Traxstech, this kit supports a professional-level installation — even when standard mounting methods just aren't an option.
Track Installation on Fiberglass boat with Installation Kit FAQ's
- How specifically do you get the track to match the curvature of the gunnel?
- Do you install screws on the flatter (Bow end) first, then bend the track down and pilot hole the stern end screws?
- Can I then remove the first (Bow end) screws to finish chamfering the stern holes and lay my 5200 beads?
Absolutely!! That is exactly what we do. Once all holes are drilled, remove the track, chamfer the holes , put the 5200 in the holes and beads from hole to hole like in our instruction sheet, place the track back over the holes carefully ( always good to have a second set of hands as it will want to slide around a bit on the 5200, than start at the front end and install screws, we like to use a cordless drill with a torque setting and get them down snug than a slight extra ¼ turn and that’s it.
- Will removing the screws before the 5200 is applied damage or affect the strength of the bite into the fiberglass gunnel?
No, we have never experienced that. A lot of times we take a screw and put it in all the holes after they are pilot drilled and chamfered but before the 5200 to make sure things go smooth. (Every once in a while, the different boat manufacturers add an aluminum plate inside the fiberglass for strength and that can play havoc on the screws.) The 5200 does such a great job sealing and adhering the screws to the fiberglass, once installed it will have a heat gun or chemicals to get this off.
