We’ve updated all Vertical Tree part numbers to include Port Side and Starboard Side versions. Whether you’re replacing a lost or damaged tree, upgrading your spread, or dialing in the perfect layout for your boat, you can now choose the exact side you need with confidence.

Why Side‑Specific Vertical Trees?

Every boat layout is different. Rod angles, mounting positions, and trolling patterns all play a role in how you set up your spread. By offering side‑specific Vertical Trees, we’re giving anglers more control and more precision.

Port vs. Starboard — What’s the Difference?

• Port Side = Left side of the boat when facing forward
• Starboard Side = Right side of the boat when facing forward

Our updated part numbers clearly reflect which side each tree is designed for, making ordering and installation straightforward.

New Part Number Format

All Vertical Bird Trees now follow this structure:

Silver anodized models follow this pattern:

• VBT-2PORT — Vertical Bird Tree, 2 rod holders, Port Side
• VBT-2STAR — Vertical Bird Tree, 2 rod holders, Starboard Side
• VBT-3PORT — Vertical Bird Tree, 3 rod holders, Port Side
• VBT-3STAR — Vertical Bird Tree, 3 rod holders, Starboard Side
• VBT-4PORT — Vertical Bird Tree, 4 rod holders, Port Side
• VBT-4STAR — Vertical Bird Tree, 4 rod holders, Starboard Side

Black anodized models follow the same pattern:

• BVBT-2PORT — Black Vertical Bird Tree, 2 rod holders, Port Side
• BVBT-2STAR — Black Vertical Bird Tree, 2 rod holders, Starboard Side

This update applies to all VBT‑2, VBT‑3, and VBT‑4 models in both silver and black.

Can You Switch Sides Later? Absolutely.

One of the best features of Traxstech’s Vertical Trees is their versatility. Even though part numbers are now side‑specific, the trees themselves can be easily switched from port to starboard if your setup changes.

• Each tree can be converted by:

  1. Removing the top black cap (secured with three screws).
  2. Accessing the individual rod holders (Part # VBT‑10).
  3. Loosening the two Allen screws on each holder.
  4. Sliding and rotating the holders to the opposite orientation.

• This same access point also allows you to:

  • Replace any VBT‑10 rod holder
  • Add Beverage Holders (BH‑100V, BH‑450V)
  • Add a Tool Holder (TH‑100V)
  • Mount a Planer Board Caddy (PBC‑250, PBC‑350, PBC‑450)

This flexibility means you can confidently order the side you need today — and still adapt your system tomorrow.
